did de-oiling of seeds and settling of bentonite solution (2 sets).

gonna do another 2 sets of bentonite solution tomorrow and extraction for -80 degreeC freezing to show that the proteins would become inactive at that temperature.

This wk's (31th may to 6 june) update...

This wk we did not run any experiments due to MST on 7th to 11th June...
studying for MST.

Will confirm with Mr Yeo on the holiday schedule.
meeting with Mr Kon on Mon, 14th June 2010 to discuss on some matters..

This wk's update...

This wk, we did not run the IEX machine (AKTA).

Mon (24th may)
run through how to operate AKTA with Mr Yeo

Tues (25th may)
we peel the shell and grind the MO seeds

wed (26th may)
Ck did up the loading buffer (coz we put in the wrong composition last time)
ST find the MSDS for all chemicals

arrange time with Mr Yeo on the meetings next wk
day: 31th may & 2nd June
time: 2pm
31th may --> deoiling of seeds and preparation for wed experiment
2nd June --> run AKTA

Pre-preparation for our big project!

First 5 weeks

-Did research on Moringa Oleifera (MO) seed (coagulation activities)
-Done up Gantt chart,Risk Assessment
-Get familiar with AKTA, preparation of extract, buffer solutions
-Discuss with Mr Yeo and Mr Kon on the days for experiments
-Brainstorm with group mates on the "recipes" for freeze drying the extract on MO seed
-Stock take all necessary things that are needed for the experiments
